Alnwick Castle as a TV and Movie Set

One of the most interesting and current of facts about the Alnwick Castle would be that it is used for numerous movies and TV shows.  One of the most famous uses of the Alnwick Castle would be it’s use as Hogwarts, the  wizard school in Harry Potter.  In the following video, you can see the Alnwick Castle in the background!

The Alnwick Castle’s Poison Garden

 

These are the doors that lead to the Alnwick Castle's Poison Garden

The Alnwick Castle has a garden that is 26 acres large.  Within those 26 acres is a secret garden that holds the most poisonous and hallucinogenic plants known to humans.  Some of these plants are so dangerous, that they must be kept and grown inside cages in the garden.  This part of the garden was built by the current Duchess of Northumberland in 2004.
